T-460-HTW is synthetic gear oil which is heavier than water and will therefore allow water to float on the oil in a gear box. It is very resistant to hydrolysis and is insoluble in water. It is designed for use in heavy duty gear boxes which are exposed to excessive amounts of water, where the water can be removed from the top of the gear box allowing the gears to remain in the unemulsified oil.
This product, because of the molybdenum disulfide blended into it, gas additional E.P. characteristics and can consequently withstand heavier loads.
